Tagore
Him, i worship.
And his poems on love - ethereal, about the devotion and love for ones god. Something which was so beautiful about the Bhakti and Sufi thought. Kabir, Meera, Wajid Ali Shah et al.
Ones relationship with ones god was as intimate as would be with someone one loved dearly. It was about complete devotion with no expectation, the only true way to love.
People have forgotten that. They have drawn fences and borders in their hearts and minds, and their thoughts. But all is from ash to ash, dust to dust. The same water, earth, fire, air that makes a tiny ant, that makes a magnificent tiger, that makes a pauper, a king.
I don't beleive in God, but this is why I can appreciate Sankrit shlokas and Bhakti and Sufi devotional poetry. And that is why I worship him.
